Description

Communicate the Team Charter to the team owner(s), gain organizational acceptance and support before moving forward with the project.

If resources are needed to meet the team work plan, then owner(s) should facilitate the aquisition of resources.

Ensure that owner(s) communicate the team charter and the project costs and results to executive management for buy-in and support. All projects should be in alignment with the strategic objectives set for the company.

Roles
General Responsibilities
Leader The Team Leader provides the necessary support and guidance that will enable the team to execute the work plan successfully.

  • Maintains direction throughout the chartering effort to keep the team focused, on track, and continuously moving forward
  • Sets each session up for success (50% of the session’s success results from up front planning)
  • Creates a safe environment for participation
Facilitator
  • Assist with project “kick-off”
  • Assists the Team Members in working through each session agenda
Member
  • Participate in each meeting
  • Execute the work plan
Process Owner
  • Be the leadership role and be responsible for championing & clarifying the effort, keeping the project a business priority, and paving the way for success with the executive committee
  • “Kick-off” project start-up by sharing project background information and purpose with owners and organization
Resource Owner
  • Provide support for data gathering, relationship mapping, rewards, and assignment of resources activities
  • Delegate authority to the charter team
Process Council
  • Review and monitor progress of the project
  • Show visible commitment to the effort
